The United States is expected to see significant growth in renewable energy and battery storage capacity over the next year. According to recent data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage are projected to add more than 80 GW of new capacity by early 2027.
Battery energy storage is one of the fastest-growing segments, with total capacity expected to increase by more than 50% during this period. This growth reflects the increasing need to support renewable energy integration and ensure grid stability as solar and wind power expand.
Renewable energy already accounts for over one-third of U.S. electricity generation capacity, and its share is expected to continue rising as fossil fuel capacity declines.
